Ross is a Group director with executive responsibility for FSI Worldwide’s Africa, Middle East and Asia business which has operations in Afghanistan, Colombia, India, Iraq, Kenya, Nepal, the Philippines, Qatar, the UAE, the UK and the US. He leads a diverse team of multiple nationalities aligned by the desire to generate fair employment for job seekers spread across the developing world and deliver productive and happy work forces for clients. The demand from companies for ethically recruited and managed workers is still maturing so he spends significant effort explaining the productivity and social benefits of the model.
Previously Ross was Director of Operations and responsible for the delivery of workers and supporting services to clients’ project locations. This developed his understanding of high threat and Middle Eastern projects with much time spent at projects, coordinating services from FSI Worldwide’s source countries and managing client accounts worldwide.
His key strengths are excellent cultural understanding developed through living and working across the globe, the practical application of new concepts to mature models or businesses, and the great enjoyment of people which makes virtually any undertaking fun.
Ross served as an officer in the British Army’s Gurkhas where he participated in a wide variety of activities including war fighting, flying helicopters and training officers for command appointments. This is also where he developed his love for Nepal and learned to speak Nepali. He has a master’s degree from King’s College London.
He is an avid cricket enthusiast, loves time in the mountains and takes great pleasure from standing around a ‘braai’ attempting not to burn good meat. He reads in his spare time when his children are not insisting that he plays Ludo with them.
