Tor was born and raised in Kenya and as a young man started his career in the tourism industry working as a professional safari guide. He then moved into logistics working in Pakistan for four years as a project manager for a Police Training Camp. This experience exposed him to security and military work in challenging environments, often alongside and with other nationals from across the globe.After moving back to Kenya, Tor married and started a family and began working in logistics and operations for large safari companies in Kenya. In 2013 he decided to leave the Tourism industry and return to the security industry working with FSI.

Tor holds a private pilots license and has been flying for sixteen years. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and has become a well-travelled, experienced and knowledgeable logistician in East Africa. He speaks Swahili fluently and has very strong problem-solving skills that have proven their weight in third world environments.
